EARLY HEAD START ADMINISTRATIVE POSITIONS
Newly funded Durham Head Start Program is receiving applications for a Program Director and an Administrative Assistant/Data Coordinator to oversee the start-up and operation of an innovative model of services for low-income infants and toddlers and their families, including pregnant women. Excellent benefits and work environment.
  • EARLY HEAD START ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT/DATA COORDINATOR
    Seeking candidate with office management experience and excellent communication, computer, data entry, and organizational skills.

  • EARLY CHILDHOOD AND DISABILITIES MANAGER
    Master's degreee in Early Childhood Education or Development preferred.Oversee contracts with child care partners. Participate in short and long-range planning for education service delivery; act as an integrator of all service areas into center-based education including family and community partnerships, family involvement, health, nutrition, mental health, disabilities; and, function as liaison and information conduit between EHS Administration and EHS program. Develop, implement and coordinate education operations, procedures and policies according to Federal EHS Performance Standards and develop and implement systems that support quality early childhood services in all Early Head Start classrooms at partnering sites. Work in collaboration with EHS Director and key management staff, to ensure that all Head Start Performance Standards, NC Child Care Regulations and Rules, and NAEYC standards (when applicable) of best practice are met for all enrolled EHS children. 

  • FAMILY SERVICES AND HEALTH MANAGER
    MSW or MPH preferred. Manage staff of two Family Service Coordinators to ensure that families receive the Family Support and Health Services prescribed in the Head Start Performance Standards including assisting in the recruitment, selection and enrollment of children and families and implementing family partnership agreements and assuring that parents and staff receive services and training in various aspects of health, nutrition, dental, mental health, and disability services for center-based children and families, and to collaborate with Healthy Families Durham for assuring the provision of these services to families in the home-based option.

  • FAMILY SERVICE COORDINATORS (2 positions)
    Degree in Human Service Field with experience work with families preferred. Implement family and community partnership services to ensure that families receive the family support and health services prescribed in the Head Start and Early Head Start Performance Standards. Maintain a caseload of approximately 30 families of children enrolled in partnering center-based child care programs. Assist in the recruitment, selection and enrollment of children and families, in implementing family partnership agreements, and in helping to assure that health, mental health, nutrition, and dental services are provided.

  • INFANT/TODDLER SPECIALIST
    Degree in Early Childhood Education or Development with experience working in infant/toddler child care preferred. Responsible for carrying out tasks related to EHS education mandates. Track and support the professional development of all EHS partner teaching staff and serve as CDA advisor for non-degreed staff. Monitor and support the quality of care and education for children enrolled in center-based EHS through educational record reviews, site visits, classroom observations, and by serving as a resource for training and technical assistance for EHS teachers.  Develop materials and system and train all partnering EHS teachers and Family Service Coordinators and other Home Visitors on appropriate curricula and ongoing assessment for use with children birth to 3 enrolled in EHS.

EARLY HEAD START HOME VISITOR POSITIONS
  • BILINGUAL HOME VISITOR
    A bachelor's degree (with experience) or master's degree in related field and fluency both in written and spoken Spanish/English. One year experience working with children under three years of age. Prefer candidates with a commitment to addressing the needs of Latino immigrant families with young children.
