Durham’s Partnership for Children has been awarded a grant to establish year-round Early Head Start (EHS) services in Durham. The program will contract with private child care sites for 60 EHS slots for infants and toddlers. The contract with child care providers would be for the period of April 1, 2010 through September 30, 2011. The Partnership is seeking 5-star child care centers to provide early care and education services to a minimum of 8 and a maximum of 24 children ages 6 weeks to 3 years. *Prospective child care sites must attend one applicant workshop (required for all applicants) for additional information and questions and answers.*
Two applicant workshops will be available:
February 11, 2010 from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm
February 22, from 12:15 pm to 1:45 pm

Complete the application, provide requested attachments and per classroom budget. Submit 10 copies and a CD with electronic versions of the application, budget(s), and attachments no later than Noon on March 5, 2010 to the Durham Early Head Start office in c/o Durham’s Partnership for Children, 1201 S. Briggs Avenue, Suite 210, Durham, NC 27703.

Existing More at Four sites receiving funding in year one must apply for year two funding. The complete Request for Application (RFA) is below with an Xcel document that contains tabbed budget worksheets, budget instructions and explanations. Please send or deliver one original, three (3) hard copy proposals and an electronic copy proposal (CD) to the attention of Danielle Johnson, More at Four Coordinator, 1201 S. Briggs Ave, Suite 210 Durham, NC 27703. Proposals must be received (not postmarked) by Noon on Friday, February 12, 2010.
Durham's Partnership for Children seeks RFPs for funded projects every two years and requires current Direct Service Providers to submit second-year proposals during the first fiscal year of funding. The deadline for submitting RFPs for the FY 2009-2011 funding cycle was Dec. 15, 2008.
